London’s Screen Archives, the regional network of museums, archives, and libraries with moving image collections, has launched a nifty web widget that shows a 60-second clip of a different London-related archive film each week. Members of the London Museums Group are invited to host the web ‘calendar’ on their website. It requires a small space of 230×340 pixels and a single line of code. See it in action in the left column of LSA’s website: www.londonsscreenarchives.org.uk. Viewers can click through to a microsite containing information about the film and a link to the repository that holds it.
