Collections Skills Seminar | The first events are a series of FREE Collections Skills Seminars aimed at small and medium-sized museums. They have been funded by Arts Council England and so are restricted to museums in England. The first one takes places in London on 6 November and then we’re going to Norwich (29 Jan), Bristol (19 Feb) and York (19 Mar). The seminars will provide useful updates to Collections Management professionals. Sessions will include Using Museum Standards to Sustain Collections with Alex Dawson, Programme Manager for Standards at Collections Trust, and Building Digital Capacity in Museums, with Nick Poole, CEO at Collections Trust. Delegates will have the chance to discuss their issues, to network and they’ll also receive support materials to take away. More information can be found at www.collectionslink.org.uk/skills-seminars. Digital Asset Management for Museums Conference We’re also organising a conference on Digital Asset Management for Museums. This event will address the topical issues around DAM and provide useful information for anyone involved in this area. The delegate price is £195 (plus VAT), although there are a limited number of free places and travel bursaries, funded by Arts Council England, for English museums with a turnover of under £500,000. The details of this event can be found at www.collectionslink.org.uk/dam2013. MDO Workshops Do you have contact with any MDOs? If so there are two MDO Workshops too! The first one is in Salford on 4 December, but then we’re back in London on 26 February.www.collectionslink.org.uk/mdo-workshops
