The Foundling Museum needs your good deed ideas

In June 2013, a major new commission by artist Clare Twomey, Exchange, opens at the Foundling Museum. To create this work, we are inviting local residents, schools, businesses, community groups, charities and our colleagues in the museum sector to help suggest over 1,000 good deeds.

Exchange will consist of over 1,000 cups and saucers. On the base of each cup and in the indentation of its saucer is marked a commission to do a good deed. Each day, ten people will be invited to choose a cup at random from the hundreds laid out. In exchange for agreeing to complete the deed, they may keep the cup. With each passing day, as cups are removed, more deeds will be revealed. Meanwhile, within the Museum and online, a record of all the deeds being carried out across our community will unfold.

If you would like to suggest a good deed idea (bake a cake for a neighbour, donate to charity….) please email your ideas to by 19 April.
