Salary: £31,000 per annum. Permanent
Black Cultural Archives (BCA) is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated and experienced professional to expand BCA’s marketing capability, and devise creative promotional strategies as it works to deliver the UK’s first National Black Heritage Centre, in Spring 2014.
You will work closely with the Director and internal stakeholders to promote BCA’s learning initiatives, public programmes and archive collection, while maximising promotional and business opportunities for BCA’s commercial and fundraising activities.
The ideal candidate will deliver a comprehensive pre-launch and post-launch strategy for promoting the organisation’s vision and work, and develop strategic marketing, brand and media partnerships indicative of a world class cultural heritage organisation.
Candidates essentially should have:
– Proven experience of developing, maintaining and delivering on marketing strategies to meet organisational objectives;
– Excellent partnership-building skills to forge links across the commercial, statutory and third sector;
– Experience in brand management, positioning and communication;
– Excellent spoken, written and communication skills

Black Cultural Archives is a charity and company limited by guarantee dedicated to collecting, preserving and celebrating the history of Black people in the UK. In Spring 2014, we will open the first national Black heritage centre in the UK, in Windrush Square, Brixton. This building development will provide a permanent home for BCA’s collection of historic material with a strong public programme of outreach, exhibitions, education and events relating to Black Britain and the African Diaspora.
